Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)
Many men have excess breast tissue. This condition is called gynecomastia. This may have come on at an early age or sometimes develops later in adult life. Many men are uncomfortable taking off their shirt in public or at the beach. Some wear loose shirts or compression vests to hide it. Male breast reduction can remove this excess tissue and restore the chest contour to normal. Imagine taking your shirt off at the pool or beach without feeling self conscious!
The surgery takes 3-4 hours and involves a combination of liposuction and surgical excision of tissue. The incision is made around the areola so that the scar is well hidden after surgery. You will need about a week off of work and should not exercise until given permission to do so. There is little pain associated with the procedure. A consultation and simple physical exam will determine if you are a candidate for this surgery.
