The Jessner’s peeling solution is a superficial peel comprised of several active ingredients, each of which has peeling activity. Jessner’s Solution is a combination of lactic acid, salicylic acid, and resorcinol, to which ethanol is added. By adding three different peeling agents, all of which act in a different manner, the result of the peel is not only predictable but also effective. This solution is an impressive superficial peeling agent which provides significant exfoliation with minimal complications.
The Jessner’s solution is an excellent peeling agent for all skin types, including ethnic and darker pigmented skin. This peel is also ideal for acne patients. It tends to decrease oil production and opens up the sebaceous follicles. This deeper exfoliation produces noticeable flaking and exfoliation in the following three to four days after the peel, and within a week a smoother, healthier layer of skin will be revealed.
Rx: Combination and oily skin types, cystic acne, occasional breakouts, and sun damaged skin. Not suitable for client's with herpes simplex, eczema (or other drying conditions), hypotrophic scars (keloids), or allergies to aspirin.
